One of my most exciting accomplishments is when I have the opportunity to share my art and techniques with the readers of Stampington & Company publications. They are the publishers of over 30 creative, artful living, mixed media and craft magazines.
Artist’s Café is an annual publication that features the best of mixed media. My article on “Creativity Uncaged” was recently featured. I shared a bit about my journey as a left-handed calligrapher. Also, the meditative lettering approach I use to set my creative spirit free as I face a blank page.
Somerset Studio magazine is the leading mixed-media publication that highlights the latest tips and techniques being used in the art community. I love participating in their artist challenges and have had many of my pieces of art published in this magazine. My most recent “Waves of Change” (a combination of teal waves and my reflections on finding ones true direction in life) was featured in the Jan/Feb 2016 issue.
Somerset Life is a beautiful magazine on authentic and creative living. I was delighted to have two spreads in the Spring 2016 issue. One was my “Forget-Me-Not Art Journal”, once an unwanted old book that I’ve upcycled into a treasured keepsake. I use it to preserve memories in an artful way. Pages of my contemplative collages and garden illustrations are tucked between journaled pages. Also my “Birdcage Bookmarks” were featured. I create them by collaging leftover art scraps, my lettering, and painted papers. I hope that by sharing my ideas and processes I am able to inspire others to explore their creativity!
